The famous Prestashop puffin now manages the cookies on its websites thanks to Axeptio’s module, which can also be found in their marketplace. We investigated and wanted to know why Prestashop chose Axeptio’s solution. Marine Dizol, Legal Manager, tells us everything.

- Hello Marine! Axeptio’s cookie management module is now available in Prestashop’s marketplace. You also use it for the Prestashop.com website. Why did you switch solutions?
Prestashop had been using a homemade tool that had become obsolete in light of new recommendations from the CNIL. Developing an in-house compliant version was feasible, but there were other priorities.
I looked for alternatives and met with several vendors. We compared the solutions available on the market. What was aesthetically pleasing and didn’t integrate harmoniously with our sites? We needed a tool that was quick to implement.
Then, when we connected to our GDPR project management platform, we saw that our provider, Data Legal Drive, uses Axeptio to manage their cookies.
- What were your criteria for choosing a new tool?
We were impressed by Guillaume’s demo! The tool allows for truly customized management.
In addition, Axeptio is a French actor.
Another advantage is that integration is effortless and fast. The operational teams had no difficulty taking up the tool. There was great support from Axeptio’s groups.
Many of our cookies were already managed by the solution. Adding custom cookies turned out to be simple.
- What made you want to switch to our solution?
We had requirements in terms of UX-UI, and the design of this tool adapts well to the environment. It doesn’t make a “big block.”
The massive block in the middle of the web page is frankly horrible! The big banner at the bottom of the screen isn’t any better…
Axeptio’s widget, on the other hand, is small, discreet, and integrates well. You can change the colors. It doesn’t hinder the readability of the pages, which is a plus. Making the module accessible through a small button on the side of the browser is more likable and more user-friendly. Ultimately, we’re delighted with the module’s appearance on the site.

The ability to collect consent by purpose was a criterion. It’s much more transparent and readable for the user to have a dedicated screen by definition rather than a large table with many lines lost in a section explaining cookies.
It’s user-friendly, and it allows for understandable reading.
- Regarding consent collection, what did you like about our approach?
A switch next to each cookie on the module and the ability to directly access the relevant privacy policy are also tangible “assets” of Axeptio’s tool.
As a user, I find the module’s accessibility on all site pages an excellent feature. We can review the banner and see the information available anytime. It’s very reassuring; it’s a real plus of the solution.
- Did you have any concerns about user reactions?
At first, the fact that they could object to the deposit of cookies was a concern. We did some testing and saw that it wasn’t an issue.
The high accessibility of the module on the site was not a problem.
- To sum up, what particularly impressed you about our solution?
I would say:
- Its ease of use;
- its easy and fast integration;
- a particularly successful design;
- consent management.
